Firebrand Delicatessen in Gunnison

The owner is so friendly and accommodating and so are her employees. Whenever I ask for a slight change in an order it is no problem at all. Of course I only ask when there isn't a huge line behind me! The Firebrand is the best restaurant in Gunnison. The menu options are unique and tasty.

Delicious food, kind staff

The sandwiches are delicious, with a wide variety of choices, and they have several bread options, including gluten-free. The mushroom soup and veggie chili were also excellent, and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Wow what great sandwiches. I had the veggie with cream cheese and my partner had the ham cheese. I look forward to the next visit..

Menu looked very appealing, but they don't take credit cards, so since I'm traveling on business, my policy is to pass it by...too much hassle to get a cash sale reimbursed.

CASH ONLY. Owners don't make an effort to put a simple sign up to let their customers know so you'll wait in line to find out. Sandwiches looked very basic.

Ugh. Only go here if you have hours and hours to eat lunch. I have been here three times and every time it has taken 25-45 minutes to make a simple sandwich. More if you request for toasting. Crazy.

I'm a Reuben guy. I try it anywhere that serves it. The Reuben here is one of the best I've ever had! The service is excellent too!

The ruben was seriously out of this world. Haven't tried the rest of their food but the service was friendly and efficient. Will be back.

The staff was friendly and working hard. I'd not recommend the stop if you're in a hurry though. The time from walking in to getting my 2 sandwiches was 50 minutes.

Great local place Heidi makes great sandwiches. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

LOVED the food! Great atmosphere. Friendly staff, good conversation. Took a few minutes to get our food, but it was worth the wait! Giant sized Peanut butter chocolate chip cookies were awesome. My hot and spicy mariachi sammich was super delicious. The coleslaw tasted good, but was a little too saucy for my palette. Wife had a veggie sammich with walnut pesto, and she loved it. Great tasting coffee. 4 stars only because our opinion is $28 was a little steep for sammiches for lunch.

We had a NY Reuben, a Marylin (roasted red pepper and pesto), and a chocolate chip cookie. All of them were AMAZING! The flavors were fantastic (and not 'for Gunnison, just fully great) and the portions were generous but not overbearing. We'll definitely be back!OH, and the owners are super friendly and are being very thoughtful about their covid-19 precautions. 👍

Excellent service, and the food is outstanding. Great atmosphere to enjoy a meal or a cup of coffee.

Really tasty sandwiches and an out of this world yummy strawberry rhubarb cream cheese muffin. We came at a ridiculously busy time, but the staff was genial.

What a neat little spot this is! It is (just as I said) little. Independence Day traffic had it busier than normal, but it was a fantastic find! Their menu is a tad confusing, but their options are delicious. The customer service was a tad lax and their speed needs some work though. However, it is a great place to grab a lunch in Gunnison.

Great sandwiches, cozy casual atmosphere, friendly service. Sandwiches are tasty....each in our party of 4 ordered different sandwiches and everyone really liked them. They have both hot and cold sandwiches, and a good selection of vegetarian options. Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

My favorite lunch spot in Gunnison. Sandwich menu has a lot of great options, you won't be disappointed. And get a cookie if they are not sold out.

We were headed here until we saw the sign on the door that said no credit cards. So we went next door to W cafe. It was great! I wonder if they realize how much business they are losing by not taking credit cards.

Delicious sandwiches and breakfasts and amazing staff! We love to get lunch to go for picnics and hikes, as the sandwiches always stay really fresh and tasty. Definitely a breakfast and lunch spot that always delivers great food and a smile! Highly recommend!!

A truly fantastic sandwich.

Good food; nice people. The owners are wonderful! They support our local food pantry monetarily and with food. The Firebrand is always full of friendly locals and visitors from out of town who have heard about it.

My boyfriend and I had our car brake down in Gunnison and we were scrambling for a place to get food with our dogs. I called the visitor center and they recommended Firebrand Delicatessen! The staff was very accommodating to our needs and treated us to excellent lunch and muffins! They truly made our day, and showed that kind people do exist. We will most definitely stop by here every time we are in town. Thank you so much for your hospitality and kindness! ❤️ Eating here was the true turnaround to a bad day and the start to an amazing trip.

What a great gem! We were passing through at lunchtime and found this on yelp. The owner was behind the counter, such a sweet kind hearted person. She was very sweet with me while I tried to figure out my picky 3 yr old daughters order.y daughter loved her food and Our sandwiches were delicious! They even have gf bread and it sounded like sometimes she’ll even have gf muffins.

There is something extra special about the powdered sugar.

The food was great but the service was extremely slow, so patience is important. They only accept cash.

Best little sandwich shop in town. Breakfast and lunch. Cash is king. A local favorite.

Very surprised and dissapointed in the poor customer service experience we had today at Firebrand!! We have eaten there at least four times, the sandwiches are very good. Today we walked out, due to how rude the owner (1 of the 2 sisters) was to us. My wife was asking questions to the person behind the register, and the owner just butted in, and said "it's OK you don't understand" but we can't make a change, after he had just said it was no problem. This was in reference to a possible substitution on a sandwich. She was just so rude and condescending to my wife, and went on to explain how hard it is for the cook. It wasn't what she said, it was how awfully rude she was. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Maybe they will learn that this sister/owner shouldn't interact with customers and should stay in the back. I would offer this suggestion to the owner... have faith in your employees because he has significantly better customer service skills!We won't be going back!

Amazing service. Forgot cash and they let me order thrn run to an atm and pay when I got back. Best breakfast bagel sandwich ever.

Good sandwiches. I got a Ruben and it was awesome, wife had some avocado thing she said was really good. Friends in Gunny eat here all the time. CASH ONLY. They don’t post that big enough. Good service and selection.

Great sandwiches

The only place to eat in Gunnison. Try the Marilyn deluxe on sourdough and if you want to be a naughty boy add pastrami. Their waffles, cookies and muffins are also out of this world. Also, the sisters who own this place couldn't be sweeter. A must stop whenever im driving through town

My Ruben sandwich was awesome. Very friendly staff.My wife has a gluten allergy. The GF bread was exceptional. Anti cross contamination was a priority for them.

Awesome soups, creative sandwiches and the best Reuben you'll ever eat. This is my favorite breakfast/lunch spot in the entire Gunnison Valley. Lots of vegetarian options. Bring cash... They don't take cards.

Always a great sandwich! You really can't go wrong with the food here! I had the Reuben. I always have a Reuben, no matter where I am. The Reuben today, with extra cheese, was the best Reuben I have ever had! Period!
